Aerial Crop Monitoring for Alger Farms

AUG Imaging used advanced aerial imaging to help Alger Farms locate and manage water damage caused by rising canal water levels.

Alger Farms Inc is a family farm in Homestead, Florida that specializes in Fresh Winter Sweet Corn, Snap Beans, and Landscape Materials. Richard Alger, the owner of Alger Farms, Inc., harvests over 1,200 acres of sweet corn and 200 acres of trees in Miami-Dade County. He is an effective leader of and spokesman for his industry, and a strong voice for agriculture in a county facing the challenges of explosive growth and rapid urbanization. His son John Alger, asked AUG Imaging to perform aerial site monitoring of three of his crop fields to locate and manage water damage that was a result of rising canal water levels.

AUG imaging used advanced aerial imaging to generate orthomosaic maps so John and his team could document the damage and plan accordingly. We also created an interactive aerial virtual tour so he could navigate within the field and view it from multiple viewpoints. This allowed John and his team to effectively monitor the fields and make informed decisions.

Overall, AUG Imaging's aerial site monitoring solutions have proven to be an effective tool for farmers like Alger Farms Inc. to locate and manage water damage caused by rising canal water levels. By leveraging the latest technology and our expertise in aerial imaging, we are able to empower farmers and deliver tangible results.
